Where It All Started

Before becoming a hair specialist, I spent 6.5 years working in ethical cosmetics, where I discovered my passion for nature-infused beauty, sustainable practices, and ethical business.
When faced with job redundancy, I chose to channel this passion into hairdressing.
As an adult learner, I soaked up every piece of knowledge I could find, but found traditional training fell short when it came to curly hair.
I sought specialised curl education, even training with experts from the U.S. and beyond, training is something I continuously invest in.
Today, I work exclusively with curly hair from loose waves to tight coils, helping clients embrace and celebrate their natural hair.

Meeting the demand
- Amy-
To help with the demand of curly people needing expert hair care in Bournemouth I have taken on the lovely Amy who has spent a whopping 27 years in the hair industry! Prior to joining The Curl Specialist Bournemouth she has been working for herself and longed to be back inside the salon environment.
​
Amy has taken to curly hair like a duck to water which isn't hard seeing as she would cut curly hair dry as standard previously, she also has afro experience and understands the unique needs of curly hair.
​
Her books are also filling up fast and you can find her in salon on Tuesday's, Wednesday's & Friday's.​
Keeping things running in the background
- Rosie-
Rosie is our right hand man! With so many projects to juggle she is here to help keep everything ticking over nicely. She performs more of the clerical work and you may be contacted by her when it comes to appointments or if you have a burning question not already answered on our FAQ's.

You'll also see her in salon on our stylist training days as she is the hostess with the mostest!

With 27 years in hairdressing and a year dedicated solely to curls, Colette blends experience with a warm, grounded presence. She is highly skilled in all areas of colour and loves creating looks that feel natural and personal. Outside the salon, she’s happiest spending time and relaxing with her family.
