A Truly Ethical Salon
Being as ethical as possible is incredibly important to me, I want to ensure I'm taking less out of this planet than I give. It's not about talking the talk, here's how I walk the walk...
01
Waste

Waste covers a massive part of the business because this is the biggest impact I can make.
When fitting out the salon I bought second hand wherever possible. It would honestly be easier for me to name the items that I bought new (trolley, boiler, light fixings) When taking down the wall I even saved the timber and plasterboard to use downstairs.
I dispose of my hair waste using The Green Salon Collective and compost coffee grounds and tea bags.
I use an eco head to save water and opted for an energy efficient boiler to heat my water.
I use the number one ethical energy company Ecotricity to supply the salon - They invest back into making clean energy!
02
Finance
I, like many, want to know that where I spend my money is being put to good use.
I bank with an ethical bank and use an ethical pension company, both of which do not invest in fossil fuels. I support local businesses and where possible black owned suppliers and businesses.

03
Animal exploitation
Animal testing does not belong in the cosmetics industry. I use B-corp certified company Organic Colour Systems for my products they are also based in the New-Forest just up the road so less air miles! I also research new products I use to ensure they don't test on animals too.
04
Community
People over profit - Yes of Course I'm here to make profit but what if I supported people too? To me this looks like...

Inclusive pricing - holding pay what you can days once a month
Gender neutral pricing - paying based on the length of your hair not gender
Mirrorless appointments - for those who might not want to stare at themselves throughout
Quiet appointments - for those who dislike small talk we'll chat curls only
Work experience for neurodiverse young adults to help gain work experience.
